This Sony Vegas plugin is intended to process a timeline with 24p video captured through the HV20 (or really any camera)
and convert the file into a native 24p clip. This is done using freeware tools such as DGIndex and VirtualDubMod. For a
lengthy discussion on this process and what you will need, please refer to the following thread on HV20.info.
Where is the Plugin:
You can get the plugin from the following location:
Szudzik.Process24p.dll
If you want, you can also install the debug symbol file (this is a beta plugin after all) from
Szudzik.Process24p.pdb
To install these, simply download them and place them in your Vegas Script Menu folder.
What does it do: Essentially, the plugin will process all of the clips you specify on your
timeline and run them through the pulldown removal process to wind up with true
native 24p clips that can be used on a real 24p timeline. This is accomplished by
using the freeware applications: DGIndex, AVISynth and VirtualDubMod.
How do I do this: Start by creating your regular 29.970 Vegas timeline. Then place your clips
on the timeline as you like. Trim them, add color correction etc.. When your happy
with your "movie", select the plugin from the plugins menu and begin processing. Help and Information
Here are a couple of screen caps of the application. Below
the images is a list of the different options that are available and what you can
do.
Main UI:
In the main user interface, you can choose the compressor (video codec) that will
be used to create the final 24p AVI file. In addition, all of the
clips used by the timeline will show up, with their tracks and their start &
end time codes. Check the video events that you want to have processed. By default,
any events on your Vegas Timeline that are seleted will be automatically checked
here.
You can setup the working directories for DGIndex, VDub etc by using the Options
menu (Shown Below).
Follow the directions for setting up these paths from the HV20Pulldown application
instructions.
When you are ready to process the files, click the "Process" button at the bottom.
